It occurred to me that our SL is being abused and it appears that common sense is not so common anymore, as well as decency. Specially lately when people think that there is no one watching. So listen up.
Here are a few ground rules for SL:
1) Avoid posting large images (both dimensions and file size).
As if pictures itself isn't bad enough, you have to consider that Shout lite is a sort of chat mechanism. It's ok to post a picture here and there but you don't HAVE to post 50 million pictures in the SL and/or pictures that takes 5 monitors combined to view that picture. When I say here and there, that means very seldom.
2) Avoid pictures containing and/or depicting anything discriminatory/offensive; Religious, Sexual, Racist, etc.
3) Avoid gory, inappropriate, and grotesque pictures. As well as any sexually suggestive material.
4) Avoid the use of profanity (may it be English and/or Tagalog, in any/every dialect) as well as racial slurs, religion slurs, etc.
5) If possible, avoid relaying personal information over SL. This is to protect YOUR privacy. Don't go complaining to us when YOU are getting stalked or something similar when you blurt out your number to every Juan and Maria in SL.
6) Avoid changing the font style of SL. Yes it is very annoying. Sometimes people make mistakes but it's very obvious when it is intentional.
This means that you should CLOSE all of your TAGS when you are posting in SL so that you don't ruin the formatting of SL.
7) Flooding is severely disencouraged. We understand it lags sometimes but this is very annoying and highly discouraged.
8) Smileys are cute but when you have 50 billion smileys in a post, it's horribly annoying. So I urge everyone to keep your smileys to an optimum amount. Enough to convey your message but not enough to ruin the SL ambience.
This can also be applied to flooding smileys
Last but the most important rule:
9) Enjoy :)
A simple reminder, a SL post can ONLY contain 240 characters (That includes tags). If you go beyond 240 characters, you will risk ruining the SL formatting through unclosed tags.
Breaking one of these ground rules is subject to penalization. As well as we reserve the right to change these rules at any given time and/or update it. We also reserve the right to give out penalties as a result of an infraction of these ground rules as we see fit.
We don't aim to stifle and/or control the flow of your conversation but It's simple ethics, and people tend to forget ethics. Remember the SL is for everyone, Let's keep our SL clean.
Ignorance of the rules excuses no one-----
to where sleep goes, off it goes, nobody knows. How it shows, only he would know. Why is it so?
