Marionette

As I opened my eyes, I saw someone staring at me.
With his loving gaze, admiring every inch of what he sees.
Ba-dump, ba-dump, I can clearly hear the sound
Of my heart, at that moment, started to pound.

Up and down my hand goes, as he taught me how to move.
Little wobbly step, my thin feet made to make him feel good.
I learned a lot, his gracefulness, his feelings and skills.
And we performed on the stage with people for us to cheer.

"Nothing lasts forever", I recalled reading it somewhere.
Glorious days are over and may usefulness he can't even remember.
I'm all worn out.. He is tired of dealing with me.
Now, I sunk deeper.. my body I wasn't able to see.

Yes. I am just a creation, that he once loved.
Now, I'm no more than a scrap stored in a trash bag.
Days slowly past.. another calendar has been replaced.
I longed for the moment that he will get me out of this place.

No more ba-dumping sound, there is nothing to hear.
My heart gone cold for the sadness I cannot bear.
You are my life, my happiness, my everything.
But I'm only your marionette. A piece of wood. Nothing.
